Help us do more!

Your support will help us make life better for the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.
You can make a lasting difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people.

With 650 services we are in local communities where you live and work. We help transform the lives of thousands of children and young people each year and we’ve been doing so for 145 years. We work directly with more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers each year.

The children and young people we support face the most difficult problems in life. Some don’t have the basics, from the love and care of family to regular routines such as mealtimes or the guidance that all children need to grow to be healthy adults.
Others have to overcome physical or emotional challenges that hold them back. We help these children to fulfil their potential by providing services to support their individual needs. We succeed in helping children and young people to overcome difficulties at an early stage to tackle problems before it’s too late…

A severely malnourished child lies down after being admitted to Banadir Hospital in Somalia's capital Mogadishu on July 26, 2011. An estimated 3.7 million people in Somalia--around a third of the population--are on the brink of starvation and millions more in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda have been struck by the worst drought in the region in 60 years. The UN's World Programme Programme (WFP) said its food airlift to the Somali capital Mogadishu for drought victims was delayed on Tuesday due to last minute bureaucratic hurdles in Kenya. "The aircraft are loading with the hope that they can take off on Wednesday," said WFP spokesman David Orr. AFP PHOTO/ Mustafa ABDI Beata Gliniecka (2) Beata Gliniecka (3) Beata Gliniecka (3)

Proclaiming a caliphate straddling parts of Iraq and Syria, Islamic State militants have swept across northern Iraq, pushing back Kurdish regional forces and driving tens of thousands of Christians and members of the Yazidi religious minority from their homes.
